Who can enter?

The competition is intended for those working and/or training towards relevant programmes of study in graphic design. Competitors can be in education and training or working in industry. The competition is open to the following level:

Advanced: those undertaking qualifications up to level 3 or up to five years experience in a working environment.

About the competition:

This competition gives competitors an opportunity to  demonstrate both their creative and technical skills in the form of a passive brief and a live competition environment. Competitors will be expected to work to a design brief and plan and submit work to a deadline, as would be expected of a professional graphic designer.

Competitors will be expected to show proficiency in industry standard design applications:

  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign 
  • Adobe Acrobat Professional

Competitors will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Creative ability
  • Creative assessments
  • Final design and typography
  • Manual abilities

Technical abilities:

  • Computer usage/software knowledge
  • Knowledge of the printing process
  • Printouts and file saving format

Competition structure

Stage one: enter online by 19 March 2010
Stage two: submit initial design work
Stage three: highest scoring competitors that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final.

How many competitors can enter from each organisation?

Up to three competitors per level, per organisation.
