Who can enter?

This competition is intended for those working in industry or undertaking a relevant programme of study in fashion design. The competition is open to the following level:

Advanced: up to level 3 qualification or up to five years experience in a working environment. 

About the competition

The competition gives competitors the opportunity to demonstrate both their creative and technical skills in garment design and construction. Competitors will work to a set design brief and must submit a research book, two final designs and corresponding technical drawings - showing evidence of experiementation, garment construction, knowledge and problem solving. Selected competitors are required to construct a toile, final pattern and the finished garment over a series of two day live events. The competition promotes the importance of technical skills required within the UK fashion industry.

You will be assessed at each stage of the competition and marked against the criteria as set out in the competition brief.

Competition structure

Stage one: enter online by 19 March 2010
Stage two: submit your entries by 26 March 2010
Stage three: highest scoring entries are invited to compete in a heat to complete their first toile
Stage four: competitors that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final to construct their final garment.

How many competitors can enter from each organisation?

Up to five competitors per organisation.
