Performing Arts: Musical Theatre
 

Who can enter?

This competition is intended for those working towards relevant programmes of study in performing arts or musical theatre. The competition is open to the following level:

Advanced: those undertaking qualifications up to level 3 or up to two years experience in a working environment.

About the competition

The Performing Arts: Musical Theatre competition will provide you with an invaluable opportunity to showcase your skills and share your work with others to promote excellence at this level.

Competitors are required to perform a published musical theatre song. They can be from any historical period as well as contemporary pieces. They may be accompanied by a live musician or licensed backing track.

Competitors will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Technique
  • Performance
  • Presentation
  • Potential

Competition structure

Stage one: enter online by 19 March 2010
Stage two: competitors compete in a regional live heat.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final.

How many competitors can enter from each organisation?

Up to two competitors per organisation.
