Who can enter?

This competition is intended for a team of two working and/or training towards relevant programmes of study in visual merchandising. Competitors can be in education and training or working in industry.

Student category: students working full or part time towards a visual merchandising qualification or a qualification which features a visual merchandising element and over the age of 16.

Retailer category: those employed in the retail industry in a role which involves visual merchandising and over the age of 16.

About the competition

skillVM is a series of competitions for students and those employed in the retail industry to demonstrate their visual merchandising creative and technical skills in a live competition.

Teams are invited to design a window display based on a given theme through submission of mood boards and a written proposal. Designs will be judged by a panel of expert judges and the top scoring designs will be shortlisted to create their window displays in a live competition environment.

Competition structure

Stage one: register online and submit design work by 19 March 2010
Stage two: highest scoring competitors that meet the required standard will be invited to compete in a heat.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at UK finals at the In-Store Show on 29 - 30 June 2010.

Competition dates and locations:

UK finals will take place at the leading retail tradeshow, the In-Store Show, part of Marketing Week Live! on 29-30 June 2010.
