Who can enter?

The competition is intended for those working or training in the automotive glazing industry. The minimum requirement for entry to the competition is the Glazing NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.

The competition will require competitors to demonstrate their skills and competencies in line with current National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Glass. 

About the competition

The UK Master Fitter competition is being held to promote, demonstrate and recognise the high levels of skill and talent that exist in today's automotive glazing industry.

Competition structure

The competition consists of a 5 stage process:

Stage one: Applicants complete a short online application form which will be considered by a committee of technical experts
Stage two: Successful applicants from stage 1 will be contacted by letter and will be required to undertake a more detailed telephone interview.
Stage three: Live heats. 6 separate competition heats will take place across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales during May - June 2010.
Stage four: The highest scoring competitor from each regional or national heat will be invited to compete in the live UK final. This will be a full day event and is scheduled to be held in Wales.
Stage five: The winner of the UK final will represent the UK at the International Master Fitter competition in Dusseldorf, Germany in October 2010.
 

Competition dates and locations

Competitions take place across the UK during May and June 2010. The Wales final is due to take place in Swansea, the week commencing 17 May 2010.
