Who can enter?
This competition is intended for those training or working as confectioners. Competitors can be in education and training or working in industry. The competition is open to the following levels:
Intermediate: those undertaking qualifications up to level 2 or up to three years experience in a working environment. This level is equivalent to junior level.
Advanced: those undertaking qualifications up to level 3 or up to five years experience in a working environment. thise level is equivalent to senior level.
About the competition
The competition focuses on the range of skills that the confectioner must demonstrate within their work role.
These skills will be demonstrated through the production of a selection of dishes including pastries, chocolates, tarts, pies, and cakes. Competitors may also be required to make decorative pieces from chocolate, sugar and marzipan.
Competitors will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Preparation
- Presentation
- Taste
- Timing
- Hygiene
- Finesse and technique

How many competitors can enter from each organisation?
There are no restrictions on the number of competitors that can be entered.
