Who can enter?
Advanced: those undertaking qualifications up to level 3 or up to four years experience in a working environment.
About the competition
The competition focuses on the role and tasks of a reflexologist. This comprises of client consultations to elicit information about clients’ health, lifestyle issues and medical history in order to identify appropriate and effective treatments.
Competitors are also expected to demonstrate their understanding of pressure techniques using the thumbs and fingers on the reflex areas of the hands and feet.
Competitors will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Health, safety and hygiene
- Consultation
- Treatment
- Aftercare
Assessment will be by observation, examination of the consultation card, and questions as required to demonstrate appropriate theoretical knowledge.
Competition structure
Stage one: enter online by 19 March 2010
Stage two: competitors will be invited to participate in a live heat.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final.
How many competitors can enter from each organisation?
One competitor per level, per organisation may enter.
