Who can enter?
Advanced: those undertaking qualifications up to level 3 or up to four years experience in a working environment.
Who is this competition for?
Competitors will be expected to demonstrate their skills as make-up artists within dynamic media environments. The competition tests creativity, technician skills, consultative and communication skills. The competition requires competitors to display one or more highly creative finished product that demonstrates knowledge of current fashion trends, make-up and costume design.
Competitors will be required to:
- Interpret a theme
- Demonstrate product awareness
- Apply body art and paint
- Design and apply a costume
Competitors will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Quality of interpretation
- Precision
- Artistic ability
- Finished look
- Health, safety and hygiene
Competition structure
Stage one: enter online by 19 March 2010.
Stage two: competitors will be invited to participate in a live heat.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final.
How many competitors can enter from each organisation?
One competitor per level, per organisation may enter.
